Assessment Techniques and Planning Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy – 1st Level: First Training Group of Georgian Specialists in Prague

In Prague, through the collaboration of the Center for Applied Research and Education and the Academy of Sports Medicine and Science, the five-day training program Assessment Techniques and Planning Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy – 1st Level for Georgian physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists has successfully concluded today.

The training took place at the Prague Sports Medicine Center and represented the first cohort of its kind for Georgia.

The program aimed to provide practical knowledge of modern physiotherapy assessment techniques and rehabilitation planning, in line with international standards. Over the course of five days, participants attended thematic lectures, took part in practical workshops, and became acquainted with the operational specifics of the Sports Medicine Center.

The training structure included:

  • City tour – The first day was dedicated to cultural and networking integration.
  • Clinical assessment and testing in physiotherapy – Principles of subjective and objective assessment, orthopedic testing, and analysis of posture, gait, and movement.
  • Physiotherapy methods and physical modalities – Manual therapy techniques as well as various physical treatment methods such as electrotherapy (TENS), ultrasound therapy, cryotherapy, and thermotherapy; types of therapeutic exercises and their practical application.
  • Musculoskeletal and sports injury rehabilitation – Mechanisms of the most common injuries, rehabilitation phases, functional testing, and return-to-sport evaluation.
  • Visit to the Prague Sports Medicine Center – Direct introduction to one of Europe’s leading centers and the opportunity to work with modern equipment.

At the end of the program, all participants received an official certificate confirming qualification in accordance with international standards.

The project seeks to integrate international experience into Georgia’s physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation sectors, to deepen the practical skills of professionals, and to promote alignment with European medical standards.
